The Return of Clos des Cocus: The 2025 Vintage Has Arrived

After an eight-year wait, our Coteaux du Layon Faye “Clos des Cocus” is finally back with the 2025 vintage, following the outstanding 2017 release.

This rare cuvée, whose name is playfully suggestive yet simply derived from the local cadastral register, comes from a single vineyard planted with Chenin on shallow soils of schist and black quartz. The grapes, patiently concentrated through noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), are harvested in successive selective pickings before undergoing a long fermentation and extended ageing in oak barrels, revealing the full richness and complexity of this great sweet wine.

The 2025 vintage offers a generous aromatic profile with notes of mirabelle plum, ripe plum, floral honey, apricot preserve and delicate hints of exotic fruits. The palate is rich and elegant, lifted by remarkable freshness, promising exceptional ageing potential.

Like the finest Coteaux du Layon Faye wines, Clos des Cocus 2025 is a wine that rewards patience. It is built to evolve gracefully over decades, up to a century for the greatest vintages. Rare, eagerly awaited, and a true nectar.
